Our Story...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a land called Otautahi, Christchurch. There were Monstera...and there were Men. Ben from Monstera & Men was a leading figure in bringing 'The Garden City' into our buildings, offices, restaurants and bars.

As Ben departs in 2024 on a journey to distant lands, it was with great privilege and honour that Good Plant Company - with Leo at the helm and Nate in the field - continues to uphold this legacy, and to take pride in offering our services for the well-being of the people.

Our mission at Good Plant Company is planting good company. We are dedicated to transforming urban spaces into lush, green sanctuaries. Our mission is to bring nature into the heart of the city, fostering a deeper connection between people and the earth. We specialise in indoor plant maintenance for offices, hospitality venues and various workspaces, enhancing environments with the beauty and benefits of greenery. Our commitment is to create vibrant, healthy spaces that inspire productivity, well-being, and a profound appreciation for nature.

And just a little bit more info about Leo and Nate – Leo has studied at level 4 both Organic Crop Production and Small Business certificates. He also has work experience in the nursery/landscaping/garden maintenance industries. Nate has studied horticulture and has previous work experience in landscaping/gardening and art/design.

Sustainability

Sustainability is important to us and one of our goals is to eliminate single use plastics. We use pots made from 90-100% recycled plastic, and our discarded pots and plant tags are sent back to the nurseries for reuse. We use eco-friendly, natural products and support local businesses where we can - from local nurseries to local fertilisers and everything in between.
